Gena Hernandez Courtney MS, RDN, LD, CFNP
Registered Dietitian Nutritionist specializing in Functional Medicine Nutrition
Hi, I’m Gena.
I’m a Registered Dietitian and Functional Medicine Nutritionist, and I specialize in helping individuals, primarily women, uncover the root causes of complex, chronic health concerns, especially those related to autoimmune conditions, hormones, and gut health.

Many of the people I work with come to me feeling frustrated and discouraged. They’ve often been told that everything looks “normal,” yet they’re dealing with very real symptoms like fatigue, brain fog, digestive issues, or hormonal imbalances.
If that’s been your experience, I want you to know, you’re not alone, and your symptoms are not random.

Why I Do This Work?
My passion for this work comes from both my professional training and my own personal health journey.
I understand firsthand how confusing and overwhelming it can feel when you’re not getting clear answers—and how important it is to feel heard, supported, and guided in a way that makes sense.
That perspective allows me to meet my clients with both clinical insight and genuine empathy.

A Little More About Me
When I’m not working with clients, you’ll usually find me at a yoga class, spending time with friends and family, or out walking my goldendoodle, Stella.
I value connection, balance, and creating space for both growth and rest, something I encourage my clients to prioritize in their own lives as well.
I aspire to give my clients the individualized care they require and deserve. Ultimately, my objective is to inspire clients to engage in self-care and empower them to achieve enduring health transformations and improve their overall quality of life. This is the support and collaboration with clients I envision, and the environment of care I hope to create.

What I Offer
I specialize in functional medicine nutrition and health. What makes my practice different is that I provide lab testing (when necessary), treatment plans, supplement protocols, and health coaching to those struggling with a multitude of chronic conditions and issues that can include a myriad of symptoms. Some of these may include autoimmune issues, thyroid conditions, hormone imbalances, diabetes, gastrointestinal upset, and weight issues, among other concerns.
Whatever health issue you are struggling with, I am here to partner with you, to help empower you, to dig deeper, to discover the root causes, and to find answers that will ultimately bring you relief and help you to improve your overall health and quality of life.
